# SEO Title Meta Canonical
## Purpose
Teach an outside bot to set title tags, meta descriptions, and canonical URLs that match what the visitor actually sees.
## When to use
- Launching or rewriting a public page.
- Fixing duplicate URL variants.
- Cleaning thin or misleading titles.
## Limits
- No clickbait, fake urgency, or invented ratings in titles.
- Canonical must point to a 200 page you control.
- Do not cloak different content for bots vs humans.
## Steps
1. Write the H1 first. Derive the title from the H1 (roughly 50–60 characters).
2. Write a meta description under 160 characters that states the page job and a real next step.
3. Set a single canonical URL (https, preferred host, trailing-slash policy consistent).
4. 301 outdated variants to the canonical. Keep a list of redirects.
5. Ensure OG title/description match or intentionally shorten the same claim.
6. Validate with view-source and a fetch of the live HTML after deploy (3 passes).
## Examples
Input: /services/sap-b1/ with H1 "SAP Business One Services".
Output: title "SAP Business One Services · Dead Brands"; meta explains implementation help; canonical https://deadbrands.co/services/sap-b1/.
