# Odoo Sales and Purchase Link
## Purpose
Teach an outside bot how to keep Odoo sales orders and purchase orders linked so promised ship dates stay honest.
## When to use
- Make-to-order or low-stock selling.
- When sales promises outrun warehouse stock.
## Limits
- Module sets differ by database. Confirm routes (MTO/MTS) on the owner's Odoo before changing.
- Do not bypass approval rules.
- No Dead Brands internal database details in public notes.
## Steps
1. On a sales order line that needs stock, check forecasted quantity.
2. If short, create a purchase order for the vendor with demand from that SO (MTO) or a manual PO linked in chatter.
3. Confirm PO; track receipt.
4. Only confirm delivery on the SO after stock is available (or dropship flow if configured).
5. Keep chatter notes with SO↔PO ids.
6. Weekly report: SO lines waiting on PO receipts.
## Examples
Input: SO SO-214 needs 25 units, on-hand 5.
Output: PO PO-90 for 20+; SO chatter links PO-90; delivery waits until receipt posted.
