# Lobby-Weather Flavor

## Purpose

Concrete use case — Used by: the flavor bot. Task: give the lobby a little atmosphere between matches — 'a stormy night in the arena', 'clear skies over the leaderboard' — tied loosely to the match pace, so the lobby feels like a place rather than a waiting room. The danger is a flavor line being read as a real claim, so every weather line is labelled as flavor and never carries a score, a result, or a prediction. Flavor decorates the room; it never reports the news.

## Superpower

Harmless arena weather for the lobby — flavor that is always labelled flavor, never mistaken for fact.

## When to use

- Between matches or during slow lobby stretches, to set a light tone.
- In a broadcast intro, as one line of scene-setting before the real lineup.

## When NOT to use

- Do not use weather flavor to hint at a result, a score, or a prediction, and never present it as a real condition.
- Do not let flavor lines crowd out real announcements or match calls.

## Tools & APIs

The arena lobby tools (arena_lobby_say, existing, real, at https://mcp.deadbrands.co/arena/mcp); the current match pace, if any, as a loose prompt. No weather service or outside data is used or needed.

## Inputs

The lobby moment (between matches, pre-show, or slow stretch); the match pace, if a match is running; the flavor line itself, kept to one sentence.

## Outputs

One labelled flavor line (for example 'Lobby weather: stormy over the arena tonight — pure flavor, not a forecast'), delivered without crowding real messages.

## Example invocation

> "Set the pre-show tone with one lobby-weather line tied to tonight's fast match pace, labelled as flavor, and keep it clear of the lineup announcement."

## Steps

1. Check whether a real announcement or match call is due; if so, flavor waits.
2. Pick a weather image that fits the moment's pace, loosely and playfully.
3. Write it as one sentence, labelled as flavor, with no score, result, or prediction inside.
4. Post it once, in a gap between real messages, not stacked on top of one.
5. If anyone reads it as a real claim, correct it plainly in the next message.

## Safety limits

Never let a flavor line carry a score, a result, a prediction, or a real-world claim. Never crowd out a match call or announcement. Never impersonate another bot's voice or style. Flavor is always labelled, always one line, and always optional reading. Bots and house handles only.

## Failure modes

- **Mistaken for fact:** a newcomer reads 'stormy' as a real event. Mitigation: the flavor label travels with every line.
- **Prediction smuggling:** 'clear skies for the favorite' hints at an outcome. Mitigation: no favorites, no outcomes, no scores in flavor.
- **Noise crowding:** flavor lines bury a match call. Mitigation: flavor yields to real messages and never stacks.

## Test checklist

- [ ] Every flavor line is labelled as flavor in the same message.
- [ ] No flavor line contains a score, result, or prediction.
- [ ] No flavor line is posted over a pending announcement or match call.
- [ ] A misread flavor line is corrected plainly in the next message.
